Here are the assignments from Group A:

1. 1. Do you think that Kit should fear Sir Phillip more than Peter? Why?
Yes I do. I think that she should fear Sir Phillip more because she was supposed to marry him and she ran away. He might do something bad to her other than just try and marry her again.

2. 2. If Shakespeare didn’t save Kit, what do you think Burbage would have done to her?
I think that Burbage would have killed her. He was extremely furious and wouldn’t have had mercy.

3. 3. Why did Peter hesitate to trust Shakespeare with the sonnets?
Although Peter knows he is a good man, I don’t think that Peter completely trusts Shakespeare. I think that he has a funny feeling about this man. He is full of creativity and a fantastic writer but I’m not sure Peter see’s all that.

JB - Summarizer

At the play, Kit almost goes on stage and sees sir Phillip and runs away. Burbage gets mad at Kit for running away but Shakespeare saves her. Peter now plays Juliet. Kit tells Shakespeare and Peter about her history. Shakespeare knew about Kit. Then the yellow man steals the script and Peter breaks into his house while Kit distracts the man.

Passage #1 : page 106 last paragraph to page 107 first paragraph
«The moment had come…Sir Philip Morton!»

This passage describes when Peter sees Sir Phillip in the crowd. I chose this passage because Peter’s emotions changed a lot in the matter of a few lines. First, Peter is excited and nervous to go onstage. Then, Peter loses some of his confidence because the crowd is disappointed that Kit isn’t playing. After, Peter lifts his head up proudly, remembering what Shakespeare told him. Lastly, Peter is immensely scared because he sees Sir Philip in the crowd. All of his theatre life could potentially be ruined if Sir Philip recognized him. I enjoyed seeing Peter’s feelings change.

Passage #2 : page 131 first paragraph to page 139 fourth paragraph
«I can tell you, the lowest window…she needed it. »

This is the passage in which Peter and Kit reclaim the stolen script by breaking into the yellow gentleman’s house. Peter and Kit separated the tasks. Kit had to knock on the door, pretending to be a damsel in distress while Peter climbed the wall and took the script. If either one of the actors failed, both would be in serious trouble. This proves the trust they have for one another. This passage also proves that Peter and Kit’s life is full of danger. One false move could get them arrested or even killed. The life of an actor gives one much confidence in everyday life.

FS - Passage Picker

Starts at “ I lifted my head proudly” p. 107.

I picked this passage because it shows that Sir Philip is very close to Peter even though he does not know it. I think that it is going to lead to some thing dramatic in the story.

Starts at : “The man who wants to marry me was in the audience”. P. 115.

I picked this passage because I think that by Kit telling that she was suppost to marry Sir Philip Morton, really starts to put the story together. It explains a lot about Kit. I also think this passage is an opportunity in the story for more adventures to happen. I think that because if Sir Philip Morton is looking for Kit and for Peter, once he finds out they are together I think that the story will really get interesting.

1. “We went along the mountain. The tower looked as deserted as ever. We scanned the fellside eagerly. There was no sing of Tom trudging home.”
-This passage chose’s that they have a lot friendship with Tom. I think that’s one of the most important things in the world.

2. “As my foot flattened silently on the fifth stair, I heard something”
-This passage makes my heart start pounding really hard. It was so intense. I would be really scared if that happened to me.

summarizer:

At first, Kit and Peter meet their “guide”, Tom. The three of them travel to Cumberland and visit Peter’s family. They set up camp and start their mission. They each take turns watching the perspective glass, keeping lookout and resting at camp. One day, Phillip and some of his men arrived at the old building while the three were snooping around. As soon as the men left they devised a plan. Tom would go into the building and see what they were up to while Peter was on the look out. Kit would stay back at camp waiting for the men. After the whole night passed without Tom giving Peter the signal that he was done, he returned to Kit. Peter went back to hopefully find Tom. He was looking around when he saw a staircase and went down to see what was there. As soon as he stepped foot he heard voices. Some of Phillip’s men were still there. He heard them talking about their plan to kill the queen just before he fell down the stairs, making as much noise as possible.
